- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2019Absolutely impressed by the fit and function of this pack. I recently completed a 12mi Hike with 5L of water and all of my gear (35lbs+) and the Osprey Atmos 65AG made it comfortable. The hip and shoulder straps are so robust that they take all of the load off the shoulders. The AG system keeps the pack off the back and allows your back to breathe. Pockets and gear ties are convenient and plentiful. Hip pockets are large and perfectly placed unless you have a larger waist. The lower side pockets stretch and are perfect for water bottles, rain jacket or any ready access item. This pack has too many features but the rain cover is sold separately. The lifetime warranty that Osprey offers is a game changer for this already amazing product.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2021I’m a 63 year old who loves the outdoors and wanted the best, multi-day/weekend, highly functional and durable backpack within reasonable cost. I’m not doing thru-hikes so a heavier but durable pack was my goal. 2021 brought the new Aether 65 vs the older Atmos 65, both of which were my leading candidates. I settled on the older Atmos 65 because of the very positive YouTube reviews and the fantastic price just recently posted on Amazon in February, 2021....$239.00 brand new! My Atmos came today and to my surprise, it DID come with an included rainfly! Note that rain fly’s do not normally come with the Atmoses? The medium is a 65 liter pack weighing in at 4.56 lbs, so it’s no ultralight. But here’s why I settled on the Atmos 65:
1. Anti-Gravity suspension/harness system - makes it feel like you’re carrying less weight than you actually are.
2. Durable & Flawless construction - heavy duty quality zippers, durable outer material, and overall build (like a tank!)
3. Great pockets & just the right amount of storage - 2 external storage pockets on the front of the pack is a winner! Also, trekking pole and dual ice axe lashings.
4. Dual side pockets are large/deep enough to fit a full-sized, Grayl water filter flask.
5. Removable brain and integral weather flap.
6. Included rain fly & dedicated rain fly pocket. - You can also use this pocket for other item storage while stashing the rain fly somewhere else if you wish.
7. The high vis, neon green interior provides great contrast when looking for items in low-light conditions.
8. Osprey’s Almighty guarantee, lifetime warranty - 2nd to none!
Conclusion: Although an older design, it is a proven pack with hundreds of satisfied users. It is a highly durable pack which will no doubt, stand the test of time. This is the best multi-day backpack, ever, imho!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2021Great comfortable, light pack. The anti-gravity suspension system works and breathes well. Occasional squeaking but nothing particularly noteworthy. Abundant space to overpack, so I need to check myself with a scale. Love the fact the top is detachable, but do consider if opting to leave it at home that the pack’s folded-up rain cover lives there.
This pack travels as well as you pack it. The first trip I took felt awful because I had the weight distributed all wrong-- heavy stuff (tent) hanging off the bottom, stuff strapped to the outside, and 1.5L nalgenes stuffed into the side pockets. After shedding an unnecessary 15 lbs and redistributing the load, my joy factor doubled.
WARNING: I have a 33/34" waist. The belt is actually TOO BIG for me on the Large sized pack. I'm going to need to gain some weight, lolz, or find a way to buffer my hips. Two days into a backpacking trip, and the Atmos AG 65 was slipping down my backside. Really think things through carefully if you're on the M / L sizing boundary.
Caveat: Last backpack I purchased was an early 1980's Jansport external frame model... when I was a pre-teen.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2022If your thinking about it, Don't think just buy it. This is THE Pack for everything, and it does it all extremely well. It is beyond comfortable, form fitting and can carry everything you would possibly need. Ive had this pack for a little over 3 years and have had Zero issues with it. Highly recommenced! Get them before they are gone, Osprey has discontinued this model for some unknown/Stupid reason. Why you discontinue your best product is beyond me. Bring it back, and with more color/custom options! Id buy three just on principle.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2019I bought an Osprey Atmos over a decade ago and it went through hundreds of miles and rough trips. It was very durable and reliable. I bought another one because though I shopped around and tried many different brands of backpacks of a similar size, nothing beats the comfort of the mesh back support of this internal frame back. I sweat a lot on my back and this really helps keep the weight off the back and allows it to breathe. Many other backpacks have good padding, but they still made me sweat a lot. This updated model also had easily adjustable shoulder straps to adjust for torso height--a great improvement over it's previous model. It has a good amount of space, straps, and clips to hold all the gear inside and out, is well made and durable. I know it's pricier than the others, but it is with good reason.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2024I somehow found this pack from an overseas vendor and paid $170 US dollars instead of the suggested retail. I had never owned anything from osprey up until this pack, and I can never return to carrying anything else than this pack or a comparable equivalent. Coming from using a mass production North Face backpack, carrying this pack with 3 days worth of supplies was like stepping onto a planet with less gravity than Earth. The adjustments and air gap between the pack and your back are something that can't be described until you simply feel it for yourself. The price is justified by the enjoyment you will feel once you hike for the first time with a fully loaded pack and overall comfort. Such a well fitting and balanced pack also reduces the risk of injury and adds to overall balance significantly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid quality and very considerate design
Unlike most products that always emphasize on advertising their fancy polished coatings, this brand only talks when you put it on your back and set out for hiking. So proud of its engineering that some functions are not realized until needed and of course, served very well. I had to search YouTube to find out all these hidden gems which is an adventure itself and almost feel like the lack of a detailed instruction manual was on purpose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Calidad total!
No hace falta meter mucha chapa contando con lo buena que es esta mochila. Esta marca nunca falla; sí, algo carillo pero la calidad es extrema! He comprado otros modelos y artículos de la misma marca y chapo de verdad!

5.0 out of 5 stars Que du bonheur
